Abstract

B a c k g r o u n d . The discourse on the role of religion in wars is not new and in the context of modern world "concern" about the future direction of society's development. Through a philosophical analysis of parallels of the conflict of people of the past to today's military confrontations from the position of theoretical reasoning, the study aims to represent a dialogical turn in the modern context.

M e t h o d s . The methodological basis of the study is the analysis and generalization of informational and empirical materials on the outlined issue, which allows not only to find historical analogies of the transformation of religious ideas, but also to build bridges between the theological and social spheres of people's existence.

R e s u l t s . The author, based on the facts of retrospective and prospective trends in the relationships between people and societies, and the realities of the present, attempted to provide a comparative analysis of individual aspects of changes in the fundamental value principles of man. Based on the contemplation of the nature of historical types of the relationship between man and war in the religious context, as phenomena of the civilizational development of society, the relationship between conflict and its root causes is represented as the dominant models. Research interest in the problem combined with intense relevance aims to attract the attention of society to finding ways out of crisis situations in the sphere of spiritual and social reality, finding the root cause of conflicts, the source of violence, as a necessity, the lack of alternative to peaceful dialogue.

C o n c l u s i o n s . In the modern discourse of searching for the "right" ways of development of modern civilization, one can observe a tendency to raise the status of the "ideal" in the human consciousness over the desire for physical pleasures, which is due to the possibilities of scientific and technological progress, which made it possible to radically improve the standard of living and conditions of existence of people, providing more opportunities for spiritual search. Global interstate wars with the use of destruction and genocide of people are receding into secondary positions primarily due to the end of the era of colonization of the planet. The digital cyber universe and space are a new boundless sphere of realization of the forces and capabilities of humanity. Therefore, today we can say that certain evolutionary stages of human development, such as the war over sin in the theological and universal sense, are coming to an end. Perhaps this is the path to the first opportunity in the history of mankind to free oneself from the necessity of mass murder for political interests of a non-existential nature.
