Abstract

B a c k g r o u n d . A comprehensive study of the "Servant Leadership" model, which was formulated and introduced into scientific circulation in the 1970s by Robert K. Greenleaf, is presented. The concept of "servant leadership" is considered as a worldview model based on Christian virtues. The example of the service of great leaders, in particular Andrey Sheptytsky, Mahatma Gandhi, Maria Teresa, Nelson Mandela, Indira Gandhi, etc. consisted in the ability to unite people around the idea of "common good" and heal their hearts with love. It is understood that the style of leadership servant is determined by a high culture of thinking, a conscious lifestyle, and the leader's influence is carried out thanks to the art of persuasion and uniting the team around a common goal. Illustrating such qualities of a servant leader as the ability to be a visionary, take responsibility, listen, be empathetic, be able to delegate authority, create a favorable environment for the development of the potential abilities of all involved, and recognize the value of each team member.

M e t h o d s . The research methodology is based on an interdisciplinary approach, which includes the analysis of philosophical sources, sociological data and biographical sources in the field of religious studies. When determining the specifics of the feature of "leadership of service" and the implementation of these value postulates on the example of the life of Metropolitan Andrey Sheptytsky, such methods as comparative-historical, methods of analysis, generalization, explanation, classification, as well as systemic, were used, which allows for a comprehensive understanding of this topic of research.

R e s u l t s . The ten fundamental qualities of a servant leader, according to Larry Spears, head of the Robert K. Greenleaf Center, are revealed: listening skills; empathy; healing; awareness; persuasion skills; conceptualization; forecasting; management; striving for people development; creating a community. "Servant leadership" is defined, according to Larry Spears, as a combination of personal qualities and professional skills, the ability to unite people around common values, which, in turn, forms a common identity. It is proposed to consider a model of "servant leadership" based on the principles of "common good", service to one's neighbor, community, military hospital, etc. as one of the most effective management models of today in the context of the challenges of war, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), anxiety, spiritual crisis, a heightened sense of finding one's place in one's calling, forced migration, etc.

C o n c l u s i o n s . It has been proven that servant leaders are architects of strategic thinking and consensus, they know how to hear and persuade with the power of words and their own example. Being a servant leader means being a carrier of such qualities, skills and virtues as competence, professionalism, responsibility, justice, respect, empathy, etc., which ensures work on oneself throughout life, lifelong education (life-long learning), self-discipline and a conscious lifestyle in the projection of the best version of oneself. It has been established that one of the most convincing examples of the implementation of the model of "servant leadership" is the life and activities of the metropolitan with statist views, Andrey Sheptytsky. Through his deeds for the benefit of the Ukrainian people, the metropolitan earned himself respect, trust and love, becoming a spiritual leader. By the example of his life, he combined the path of the mission of spirituality with civic, cultural-educational, public and political activities. He proclaimed the importance of the principle of unity of people at all levels: in the family, church, social cooperation. The leaders of the nation are distinguished by the fact that they must make the "common good" the work of their whole lives, thereby achieving the greatest goal of a person, a citizen on the path of self-improvement and the implementation of the project of their destiny, which ensures readiness for self-sacrifice in personal interests and the path to the great goal of the "common good".
