SPECIFIC FEATURES OF THE DYNAMICS OF THE ENVIRONMENTAL CRISIS IN THE CONTEXT OF THE GLOBAL CHALLENGES OF THE 21ST CENTURY

Abstract

B a c k g r o u n d . The relevance of this study stems from the global intensification of environmental issues, which require systematic analysis and the integration of interdisciplinary approaches. The article highlights the specific dynamics of the environmental crisis in the 21st century, emphasizing its interrelation with social, economic, and technological challenges. Special attention is paid to globalization, which simultaneously stimulates innovations to address environmental problems and contributes to exceeding the Earth's ecological capacity.

M e t h o d s . The research employs an interdisciplinary approach, integrating natural, social, and technical sciences. Methods of systems analysis were used to study the impact of anthropogenic factors. A critical literature review was conducted to identify the interconnections between the environmental crisis and other global challenges, while forecasting methods were applied to assess the consequences of climate change and develop sustainable development strategies.

R e s u l t s . The analysis identified key trends in the development of the global environmental crisis, including uncontrolled industrialization, urbanization, and climate change. It was found that modern social and economic systems deepen the crisis through excessive resource consumption and unequal distribution of environmental risks. International initiatives, such as the Paris Agreement and the Sustainable Development Goals, are considered as frameworks for coordinating efforts to address these challenges. The importance of interdisciplinary research in shaping environmentally-oriented strategies is highlighted.

C o n c l u s i o n s . The environmental crisis results from a complex interaction of various factors, necessitating an integrated approach to its resolution. The study proposes the implementation of innovative technologies, the development of environmental education, and the strengthening of international cooperation to ensure sustainable development. Special emphasis is placed on adapting international experience to national contexts, particularly considering the impact of war on Ukraine's environmental state.
