Анотація

Проаналізовано зміст поняття релігійного фундаменталізму, розглянуто особливості позиціонування та форми вияву позначуваного ним феномена в соціокультурному просторі сучасного світу; досліджено специфіку взаємозв'язку й наявних принципових суперечностей між фундаменталістськими ідеями і практиками та ідеєю прав людини і шляхами їхнього відстоювання. Зроблено висновок, що релігійний фундаменталізм є комплексним феноменом, який має не лише суто релігійну природу, а й соціально-політичну сутність, надає вірі ідеологічного характеру і передбачає соціальну дію, спрямовану проти культурної модерності та світського характеру влади за одночасного слідування релігійній ортодоксії. У найбільш екстремальних своїх формах релігійний фундаменталізм постає як радикалізм, який, у разі застосування на практиці, негативно впливає не лише на ситуацію з дотриманням прав людини, а й на безпеку чи життя окремих осіб і людських спільнот.
